The Golden State Warriors need Stephen Curry at full strength to experience consistent offensive success.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe 11-11 Dubs currently boasts a 117.1 offensive rating with the four-time NBA champion and a 108.4 offensive rating without him, which is discouraging in every way imaginable.
Curry is dealing with a right quad contusion suffered before Thanksgiving and has missed Golden State’s last two games. Curry’s new injury update made a bad situation in the Bay even worse.
“Steph Curry is out at least three more games,” ESPN’s Anthony Slater reported on X/Twitter Friday.
The optimism surrounding Curry’s injury news would be higher if Slater had assured the Warriors that the 37-year-old would be good to go after the third game.

Although Jimmy Butler, who suffered a knee injury against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night, isn’t expected to miss significant time, Curry’s inactivity could result in three consecutive losses and a sub-500 record.
The Warriors are slated to face the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Chicago Bulls during their upcoming road trip.
Simply put, Curry, a 27.9 points-per-game scorer, being forced to support the Dubs from the bench is a recipe for disaster for the seven-time NBA champions.
