After a modest two-game win streak with impressive wins over the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors, the Hornets regressed with a 116-103 road loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Kon Knueppel led the team with 18 points, including going 4-for-9 from the 3-point line, while LaMelo Ball led the team with 14 assists. A bright spot in the loss was the performance of the bench, as four different players scored in double figures, led by Collin Sexton’s 15. Injuries remain an issue, with Pat Connaughton, Josh Green, Tre Mann, Brandon Miller, and Grant Williams all out.
The Knicks will be playing their second game in as many nights after a 123-117 road loss against the Boston Celtics. The Knicks jumped out to a 17-4 lead before Boston returned fire, tying the game at 49 with 3:26 left in the second quarter. The Celtics would push the lead to 18 heading into the fourth quarter before the Knicks made a final push. Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns would combine to score 28 points in the fourth quarter, pulling the Knicks to within four points in the final seconds, but it wouldn’t be enough.
