Bengals news: Roster move, Ken Anderson finalist, weekly award, more

The Cincinnati Bengals had a flurry of news go up around the team on short notice as the prep for Week 14 against the Buffalo Bills got going.

With Joe Burrow back in the fold after his rehab and securing that win over the Baltimore Ravens, the Bengals are in the thick of the playoff hunt and still alive in the AFC North.

Evan McPherson wins award

Bengals kicker Evan McPherson took down an award this week, getting Special Teams Player of the week honors. During the win over the Ravens on the holiday, McPherson hit all six of his field goal attempts and his two extra-point attempts.

Ken Anderson, Hall of Fame finalist again

Anderson is once again a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, his third time. He joins major names like Bill Belichick (coach finalist) and Robert Kraft (contributor finalist) in that category.

Bengals part of history

The NFL finally rolled out Thanksgiving ratings and the numbers are huge. According to the NFL, the Bengals’ game against the Ravens was part of a holiday slate that had 28.4 million on NBC for the matchup.

Bengals make roster move

The Bengals announced that linebacker Shaka Heyward has been cleared to return to practice. That opens his 21-day return window. He’s a core part of Darrin Simmons’ looks on special teams, never mind depth for a battered base defense.
