Jordan Walsh has truly come into his own as an NBA rotation player this season, particularly in the Boston Celtics' 123-117 win over the New York Knicks at TD Garden this past Tuesday (Dec. 2) night. The Arkansas alum put up just 8 points, 6 rebounds, an assist, a steal, and a block as a starter, but his timely play late in the game's final frame when star teammate Jaylen Brown was getting doubled by the Knicks did as much as anything to help Boston secure the win.

Walsh opened up about his play late in the fourth postgame, sharing how he managed to think quickly despite the fact that he didn't "think we’ve ever really practiced (Brown) getting double-teamed" in practice before that game. "We probably have practiced, probably every scenario, but in that moment, it was more of a read."

"Usually JB, who’s in the middle ... making the play out through the scene," added the Celtics forward. "It ended up being me and Josh (Minott) a lot tonight, and I ended up finding him. He had a 3, and I found him again. He didn’t make it, but we got good possessions out of it. I think it was just the flow of the game, making the right read and being aggressive."

Walsh credited the game slowing down for him this season as a major factor in his recent play. "I think I’m way more calm, way more focused, and obviously slowed down a lot since my rookie year," he said. "I was a mess."

"My rookie year, I was running around. I’m just going to be exhausted, you know. So, I have to take it one day at a time, one possession at a time."
