The decision to serve up pink boxes came a day after Jason McGowan, CEO of Crumbl Cookies, played a key role in helping to protect Virginia Tech's recruiting class for 2026.
BYU head coach Kalani Sitake was close to agreeing to a deal to become the next head coach of Penn State. McGowan helped lead the charge to retain Sitake amid the No. 11 Cougars potential run at the College Football Playoff. Per Pete Nakos of On3, Sitake agreed to a new deal with BYU that will pay him upwards of $9 million per year.
BYU will play No. 4 Texas Tech in the Big 12 championship on Saturday. With a win, the Cougars will be in the CFP.
Bitter's post went viral on social media, and Franklin responded to a question about throwing shade at his former employer by offering up a sweet treat at the ceremony.
"People are trying to connect the dots there and stir up some drama," Franklin said. "I'm focused on Virginia Tech. ... We've been fans of Crumbl cookies for a long time."

The real indulgence for Franklin will be how his class is shaping up for 2026.
Per 247 Sports, VT is ranked 23rd. PSU, still without a permanent head coach, is ranked at 144, with only three recruits signed.
Penn State's next head coach is going to have his work cut out for him to land players for next season.
