According to reports from On3 Sports, Kansas State Wildcats head coach Chris Klieman is set to retire, with Texas A&M's offensive coordinator in line to be the next head coach in Manhattan.
While he is not leaving until after the Aggies are finished competing in the playoff, Aggie offensive coordinator Collin Klein is expected to take the head coaching position at Kansas State at the conclusion of the season in Bryan-College Station, Texas. Klein was a former Wildcats quarterback and an alum of the university and will be taking over for Klieman, who has been at the helm for seven years.

Klein spent 2018-2021 as the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, before being bumped by Kleiman to the Wildcats' primary play-caller in 2022. The pair combined for much success in the two seasons of Klein calling the shots, as Kansas State secured a Big 12 Championship and a victory in the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
The former Kansas State quarterback (2008-2012) has plenty of experience and will bring an exciting brand of football to Manhattan. His offensive system and development of quarterbacks have been outstanding for the Texas A&M offense, which has continued to improve since Klein was hired by Elko to call the plays in College Station. The Aggies are on a historic run, achieving their first 11-win season since 1992, and only the third time in program history. That success is due in large part to the high-flying, electric offensive system Klein has instilled into guys like sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed, who has been in the Heisman race throughout the 2025 season.
