You’d better be ready for the return of Samara Weaving in Radio Silence’s long-awaited sequel, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come because the first official trailer has finally dropped. This is the moment that fans have been waiting for since the breakaway comedy horror hit first graced screens back in 2019. Now, the wait is on for audiences to fully bask in the glory of the latest project to come from co-directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (known collectively as Radio Silence), who return to the sinister game player world of a sinister family, trading the Le Domas’ for a new brood with the shared last name of Danforth. Today, we finally get an idea of how the horror will shake out as Weaving’s Grace and her younger sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton) do everything in their power to survive the buckets of blood and pain headed their way.
The massive success of the first film opened up a multitude of doors for Radio Silence, which, aside from boosting them into the opportune position of helming the Scream revivals, also allowed them to book a star-studded cast for the follow-up. While the sequel could have gone in a multitude of directions, we’re thrilled that it will continue to focus on Weaving’s Grace as she deals with the fallout from the unbelievable circumstances that went down in the original. On top of the Borderline star’s return to the fold, the ensemble is simply to die for with icons including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood and David Cronenberg stepping into the twisted world alongside Shawn Hatosy, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng and Néstor Carbonell.
The Genius Minds Behind ‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come’
As mentioned, both Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett will return to the helm of the upcoming movie, with the original marking a milestone in the pair’s shared directorial history. Although they previously chilled and thrilled audiences with Devil’s Due and Southbound, it was the 2019 movie that put them on the map and further developed their following. Thanks to a massive box office haul and a devoted fan base, word spread like wildfire about the one-of-a-kind campy horror flick, making it a genre staple overnight. The duo would go on to pick up the torch carried by Wes Craven as the directors behind 2022’s Scream and 2023’s Scream VI before pairing with Universal on 2024’s Abigail.
The sequel also marks a reunion between the directors and its scribe, with Guy Busick previously setting the tone and pacing of not just the original Ready or Not, but also Scream, Scream VI and Abigail. Most recently, the writer helped breathe fresh life into the Final Destination franchise with the box office juggernaut, Final Destination Bloodlines. Busick is joined by returning co-writer, R. Christopher Murphy, who, along with Ready or Not, holds credits on the Hulu series Castle Rock.
Check out the debut trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come above and see it in cinemas on April 10, 2026.
