Charli xcx might be the busiest woman in show business. Recently, the British pop star dropped the trailer for her upcoming mockumentary The Moment, released two singles for the new Wuthering Heights film (of which she’s recorded the entire soundtrack), and is also somehow moonlighting as a Substack writer. Outside of that, the trailer for Anne Hathaway vehicle Mother Mary dropped this week, which also features Charli on the soundtrack, and we’re still yet to see her in multiple upcoming film projects like The Gallerist, Faces of Death and Greg Arakki’s I Want Your Sex.

Despite that hefty cinema schedule, Charli is also making sure her fashion credentials are kept in check too, lending her in-demand image to Saint Laurent’s latest campaign. Shot by iconic fashion photographer Glen Luchford and art directed by label boss Anthony Vaccarello, the grainy video sees Charli lounge about in colourful anoraks from the brand while Depeche Mode’s “Waiting for the Night” plays in the background. “The campaign plays on opposites,” says the house. “The images mix athletic pieces and lacy lingerie details: a colour-blocked track top with a barely-there pleated skirt, a graphic technical nylon windbreaker, and the quilted Icarino bag. An evolved and refined evolution of the line – all come alive in this cinematic tension.” Nice!

If one the outfits Charli’s wearing in the campaign looks at all familiar to you, that’s because she wore the red windbreaker look to the label’s SS26 show in September, where she sat front row with Zoë Kravitz, Hailey Bieber and Rosé from Blackpink. Besides that, Charli has had multiple Saint Laurent style moments recently – most notably at the Academy Museum Gala and on SNL with Role Model – so it makes sense the house would make it official with a campaign. If her schedule is anything to go by, Charli is probably the hottest pop star in the world right now, and since Saint Laurent was just crowned the world’s most popular fashion brand, we think they make a great pairing.
