Here are a couple of Washington Commanders' nuggets from a quiet Tuesday.
FOX Sports announced it will broadcast a Saturday doubleheader on December 20 involving the Commanders. Though the team is currently 3-9, the Fox doubleheader is a place where they want the Commanders. It will be Week 16, and the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will travel to Washington to take on the Commanders, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 PM.

Are you noticing a trend regarding the Commanders? As stated above, they are only 3-9, yet the NFL is choosing not to flex their games. For instance, Sunday against 9-2 Denver would have been a prime candidate to get what they thought would be a better matchup. The Commanders came through for the NFL, providing a tightly competitive game that actually went to overtime.
As for the Week 16 game against the Eagles, the NFL purposely left the time TBD. Regardless of whether it kicks off at 5:00 p.m. ET or later, it's still a standalone game, with the NFL world focused on just two games that day.

However, over their last eight games, Philadelphia is a mere 4-4, only a .500 team over the last two months. The Commanders hope to have Jayden Daniels return for their final four games of the season. Those final four games will be against NFC East opponents. They will play Philadelphia twice and both New York (Giants) and Dallas Cowboys once to close out the 2025 season.
One other Commanders item from Tuesday, Washington re-signed WR Robbie Chosen to its practice squad and released long snapper Zach Triner from the practice squad. Triner had been quickly signed and played on Sunday when starting long snapper Tyler Ott was battling an illness last week. Chosen has been with Washington on and off since October, appearing in three games, making five catches for 53 yards.
