Wisconsin class of 2026 tight end/defensive line commit Jack Janda flipped to the rival Iowa Hawkeyes on Tuesday.
Janda committed to the Badgers back in early June, choosing them over Michigan State, Stanford and Illinois. The three-star recruit then visited both Iowa and Michigan State during the 2025 football season. He has now flipped to the Hawkeyes with just one day remaining before the Early Signing Period.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement247Sports lists the tight end, who schools are reportedly viewing as a defensive lineman at the college level, as the No. 858 player in the class of 2026, the No. 52 recruit at his position and the No. 16 player from the state of Michigan. He joins an Iowa class of 2026 that ranks No. 23 nationally with 18 players committed.
Wisconsin, meanwhile, drops to No. 67 in the nation with Janda's exit. The program's class now has just 14 players committed, one of whom is a blue-chip recruit (running back Amari Latimer). It has seen several players depart in the last month, a group headlined by four-star wide receiver Jayden Petit.
Wisconsin will look to keep the rest of its class together entering Wednesday's start of the Early Signing Period. That feat appears a tall task with the team's recent struggles and the current outflow from the class.
