One day before the early signing period begins, Virginia Tech head coach James Franklin continues to be the busiest man in America. On Sunday, Franklin landed one recruit, followed by three more on Monday and four on Tuesday. And the Hokies aren’t done yet.
Virginia Tech landed OL Benjamin Eziuka, WR Davion Brown and DT T-Ron Richardson earlier on Tuesday, but saved a surprise for later in the evening when 4-star EDGE Tyson Harley also revealed Virginia Tech as his destination.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Harley is an exciting prospect with his length, frame and athleticism. Harley plays at Gonzaga High School in Washington, D.C. He is a high school teammate of 5-star EDGE Carter Meadows, considered the No. 1 overall EDGE rusher in the country, and the No. 6 overall player, per 247 Sports. However, it was Harley who had enjoyed better production at Gonzaga.

His explosion off the snap is incredible and with his frame, he can add significant size and not lose any of that explosiveness. There’s a reason so many Big Ten, SEC, and ACC teams were after Harley. He’s a potential gem.
Harley is commitment No. 19 to Virginia Tech’s 2026 recruiting class, which is now ranked 31st overall. The Hokies could add a few more on Wednesday and push that ranking inside the top 25, which would be incredible, considering where things stood before Franklin came aboard two weeks ago.
A great day for the Hokies.
Welcome home, Tyson.
