Michigan State has taken the college basketball world by storm, getting off to an impressive 8-0 start that has included a plethora of very good wins. While it may not come as a surprise to the guys in the building, Michigan State has shocked a ton of people with the level that they are playing at to open the season.
During a late night broadcast during the Kentucky and North Carolina matchup, Jay Williams took time out of his color commentary to address the Spartans, and gush about how good they have looked to open the season.
“I think the Spartans are playing the best basketball in the country. You talk about physicality each and every possession. You are not leaving that game without claw marks on your arm,” Williams said.
Independent of Williams, via X tonight, The Athletic's Sam Vecenie, a senior writer on the NBA Draft, shared how much he is falling in love with this MSU team and how fun they are to watch. He even deep dove on Jeremy Fears Jr., and how his high level play is the straw that stirs the drink.
