The regular season has come to an end for the Missouri Tigers with a record of 8-4 overall and 4-4 SEC play.

Missouri beat the teams they were supposed to this season. The Tigers finished the non-con portion undefeated and had conference wins over South Carolina, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Arkansas. However, Mizzou couldn’t get over the hump to make the case as a College Football Playoff team with losses to Alabama, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma.
The over/under win total in the preseason for this team was set at 7.5 – so this shouldn’t come as a surprise to the national media. Though, it’s safe to say that Missouri had their chances in competitive games against Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Oklahoma.
Mizzou boasted an elite defense all season long but couldn’t overcome an average offense and lackluster special teams play to get them to the next level. All things considered, getting to 8-4 sounds about right with that combination. Eli Drinkwitz said it best in the postgame press conference following the win over Arkansas that this was a “good, but not great” season. And if 8-4 is the “down” year under Drinkwitz — this program is in a good spot.

There’s still a bowl game to play, but in our latest SBN Reacts survey – we ask you this: What grade would you give Mizzou Football’s regular season? Feel free to discuss on RockM+ as well.
