Winning four in a row got Arizona back into the College Football Playoff rankings, and a fifth straight victory has provided an even bigger boost.
The Wildcats (9-3) have moved up seven spots to No. 18 in the penultimate rankings. The final Top 25 will be revealed Saturday, after conference championship games, right before the UA learns which bowl it will play in
Arizona is one of five Big 12 schools in the rankings along with No. 4 Texas Tech (11-1), No. 11 BYU (11-1), No. 15 Utah (10-2) and No. 21 Houston (9-3). BYU and Texas Tech play Saturday for the Big 12 title and an automatic bid into the 12-team playoff, with the league having a shot at two qualifiers if BYU wins.
