Dec. 2—MITCHELL — Dakota Wesleyan University women basketball's Rylee Rosenquist and Avery Broughton were both honored with awards by the Great Plains Athletic Conference as women's basketball players of the week.
Rosenquist, a senior forward from North Sioux City, was the conference's offensive player of the week following a 79-70 road win over No. 9 Briar Cliff on Nov. 25. Rosenquist put up a season-high 24 points, going 7 of 13 (53.8%) from the field and 10 of 11 (90.9%) from the free-throw line. She also had four rebounds, three assists and one steal.

Broughton, a junior guard from Corsica, grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds, with 11 coming on the defensive end in the road win over No. 9 Briar Cliff to earn GPAC defensive player of the week.
Broughton also had two blocks and recorded a double-double with 16 points, while converting at an impressive 85.7% clip from the field (6 of 7) and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. On the season, Broughton is averaging 11 points per game and leads the team with 52 rebounds, good for 7.4 rebounds per contest.
No. 14 Dakota Wesleyan (5-2, 3-1 GPAC entering Tuesday's game at No. 4 Dakota State) faces No. 9 Concordia (Neb.) at 2 p.m. Saturday in Seward, Nebraska.
