Saiyans are famous for their bottomless appetite, meaning that collaborations are inevitable for Dragon Ball. The franchise has partnered up with dozens of food giants over the years, and is still finding ways to surprise fans. Case in point, Dragon Ball recently rolled out a new KFC collaboration with a video that is absolutely bizarre.
As caught by Dragon Ball fan account Venixys on X, Akira Toriyama's beloved series is getting a KFC crossover in Italy. To announce the new collaboration, KFC recruited Goku's Italian voice actor to record noises that can only be described as powering up grunts.
The result is something wholly strange but abundantly memorable, which is almost certainly what the brand was going for.
What Is Included in KFC's Dragon Ball Z Collaboration?
As part of the collaboration, not only are classic KFC items like the fried-chicken bucket getting makeovers, but there are more than a few original items on offer as well.
A teriyaki katsu sandwich inspired by Goku is on offer alongside a spicy version of the same sandwich inspired by Vegeta. Teriyaki and spicy teriyaki buckets of chicken will also be available in addition to fried cheese balls that are clearly meant to replicate the look of the Dragon Balls.
The items will be available in Italy and parts of Europe from now until January 19th 2026, so anime fans traveling abroad during that period may have a reason to stop by KFC.
Unfortunately, it appears unlikely that the collaboration will go global, though it's still possible. Naruto x Burger King started as regional before going global, so it's possible something similar could happen with KFC and Dragon Ball if the demand is there.
Dragon Ball and Food Go Naturally Together

Dragon Ball has previously partnered with restaurants like Quick for food collaborations.
While it's easy to view these crossovers as cynical cashgrabs, and they are to some extent, Dragon Ball's food collaborations make more sense than many anime food mashups.
Dragon Ball is a goofy story, and it's not uncommon to see characters from it absolutely gorge themselves on mountains of food. In contrast, Attack on Titan's instant ramen crossover just feels weird, considering the multiple literal war crimes committed by series protagonist Eren Jaeger.
In this light, Dragon Ball's crossover with KFC seems absolutely tame.
Seeing a video where chicken sandwiches power up to Super Saiyan might be incredibly silly, but it's still perfectly in line with a series that doesn't take itself too seriously, like Dragon Ball.
