New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel appreciated the aggressiveness his team displayed defensively in their dominant win over the New York Giants on Monday night.

The unit had multiple big hits early to set the tone for the game. Patriots linebacker Christian Elliss stood at the center of it all as the leading tackler for the team with 10 total tackles. On one play, he had a free shot at Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart, who tried to stay in bounds for more yards on a run attempt.

Elliss came speeding down the field at an angle and blasted Dart out of bounds.

"I appreciate how they came out aggressive ... we talked about attacking; 'if they're going to run the quarterback or run a gadget play ... sometimes the best answer is violence.' Some guys chose that. Good to see," Vrabel said after the game, via ESPN's Mike Reiss.

The physical brand of football that the Patriots play makes them an incredibly dangerous opponent for any team in the NFL.

They'll need that same effort more than ever when they return from their bye week with back-to-back games against the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens next on their schedule.
