Bayern: Manuel Neuer reveals his ideal successor
Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich’s legendary goalkeeper, has yet to decide whether he will extend his contract, which expires next summer. At 39, he’s taking time to consider his health and physical condition before making a decision.

Neuer gives his full backing to Jonas Urbig, his 22-year-old understudy who joined from FC Cologne at the start of the year. Urbig has already stepped in for Neuer on several occasions and enjoys the support of the entire goalkeeping group, including Sven Ulreich.
"Working with Jonas is a real pleasure. He is ready to succeed me and he has our support," Neuer revealed. Urbig is contracted to Bayern until 2029, but the pressure will be immense once he becomes the club’s number one.
