Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales may have gotten a bit too excited about one of, if not the biggest win of his career.
Sunday's shocking 31-28 victory over the NFC-leading Los Angeles Rams was set up by a final stop on defense. That came in the fourth quarter—when defensive lineman Derrick Brown strip-sacked Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, producing a loose ball that would be recovered by outside linebacker D.J. Wonnum near midfield.

Canales, on Monday's episode of Panther Talk, told hosts Anish Shroff, Eugene Robinson and Jim Szoke that he might've been the culprit . . .
The penalty resulted in a 15-yard loss, bringing back the recovery to Carolina's 34-yard line. Luckily, that didn't matter—as quarterback Bryce Young connected with wideout Jalen Coker on a 10-yard reception three plays later to pick up a first down and ice the upset.
