By Marni Rose McFallShareNewsweek is a Trust Project memberThe Influencer Lilly Gaddis has claimed that her YouTube channel has been demonetized for being “too pro-White.”
Gaddis, who has a following of over 240,000 on X and over 60,000 on Instagram, describes herself as a “Free speech enthusiast🇺🇸” in her Instagram bio. She has regularly used racial slurs and worn Black face.
Newsweek reached out to Google, YouTube’s parent company, via email and Gaddis via social media, for comment.
Why It Matters
Gaddis’s name hit the headlines in June 2024 after she used a racial slur in a cooking video shared on TikTok, where it amassed millions of views before her account was suspended.
Gaddis ultimately lost her job over the video, but despite the fallout, refused to apologize, and said in a social media video afterward, “All the backlash made me do a deep dive and a soul search, and after all that, I still couldn’t find a care.”
Gaddis describes herself as a “tradwife”—a modern-day housewife who embraces traditional gender roles, centering her life around homemaking, child care, and supporting her husband. It is unclear whether Gaddis is married.
...What To Know
In a recent video from her Rumble show, shared on X, she said, “I have officially been demonetized on YouTube, which was my sole form of income. Aside from a few tiny outlets here and there, YouTube was my main moneymaker."
"I’m an open book. I live with my heart on my sleeve. You know? If I say something, I mean it. I couldn’t censor myself; I refuse to censor myself. It’s just impossible. I really tried. I really tried my best. Believe it or not, what you saw on YouTube was the vanilla me. It was like the vanilla of the vanilla," Gaddis said, ending the clip by using a racial slur.
Gaddis posted on X that she had created a new YouTube channel to replace the one that "got demonetized for being too pro-White." The new channel, Gaddis said, focuses on "culture, lifestyle, and White Exceptionalism."
She has received messages of support on social media, with people encouraging others to subscribe to her new platform. Her comments and rhetoric have also sparked continued backlash and criticism.
In May, Gaddis was asked on Piers Morgan Uncensored if she ever uses the n-word, to which she told Morgan, "I do, quite frequently."
Morgan then asks her if she is “a despicable racist,” to which she replies, “Some would say I am. I guess according to the ADL I’m a white supremacist, I’m a neo-Nazi.”
Morgan pushed her on this and said, “If you use the n-word repeatedly, you are a racist then, are you?”
To this, Gaddis replied, “Sure, I’ll embrace that.” Asked again by Morgan in that exchange if she is an “unashamed racist,” Gaddis replied, “Correct.”
What Happens Next
Gaddis' new YouTube channel has over 16,000 subscribers and seven videos as of writing.
