INFECTED. CONTAGIOUS. AND RUNNING OUT OF TIME! With mere hours to go before Batman's mind and body are destroyed by the Lion's anti-fear virus, Batman takes drastic measures and seals himself inside an airtight suit to keep those around him safe while continuing his desperate search for a cure. But with the virus already taking hold and Batman's fears melting away, the world will soon see how dangerous a Dark Knight without fear is. The Courage That Kills continues in this penultimate chapter that will need to be seen to be believed!
In awesome cover art from Mikel Janín and Björn Barends, Batman wears a sealed suit designed to keep his contagious condition under control. Part of the 'The Courage That Kills' arc, the story will see Batman facing off against both Scarecrow and the Lion, as Bruce's survival instincts and sense of restraint take a back seat.

While most Batsuits are designed to make Batman stronger and allow him to do more damage, the new 'Fearless' Batsuit is all about protecting others from catching the custom disease that has removed Batman's fear. And as Janín's cover for #1106 shows Batman's suit torn open, DC is ready to unleash "the terror of a world without fear."
Batman's Relationship to Fear Just Changed
new batman suit in cover art for Detective Comics #1106
Ever since his debut, Batman has been defined by his relationship to fear. Bruce Wayne took his own trauma and phobias and turned them into a persona that would strike fear into Gotham's predators, declaring, "criminals are a superstitious and cowardly lot."
Now, the Dark Knight will be stripped of the emotion that has defined him, and which he has learned to wield more effectively than anyone else alive. So far, 'The Courage That Kills' has seen Batman reach out to everyone from super-genius Mister Terrific to Superman himself for a cure, with nothing to show for it.

Now, as Batman faces what DC describes as "one of the most formidable threats Gotham City has ever faced," he's out of options and facing the threat of becoming Patient Zero to a virus that will wipe out the city (and world) he's dedicated his life to protecting. Batman has styled himself as the master of human fear, but in a world without it, what does it mean to be the Dark Knight?
