San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings has made headlines the last few weeks for on-field issues stemming from his trash-talking.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIn Week 12, he got tangled up with Carolina Panthers safety Tre'von Moehrig, who punched him below the belt. The Panthers' defensive back was suspended for one game.
This past week against the Cleveland Browns, defensive lineman Shelby Harris claimed Jennings "said some things that you should not say to another man" after an injury on the field. But head coach Kyle Shanahan has no problems with Jennings' conduct, and he said as much at his Monday press conference.

"I talked to Jauan, I asked him about it, but not in like, I love how Jauan plays. I think Jauan plays to the whistle as well as any player in this league. He’s extremely aggressive and plays as hard as he can to the whistle and he’s been doing that, as Niners fans know and you guys know, since he’s been here," Shanahan told reporters.

But not because he didn’t throw a punch or anything. I think J.J.’s been really good at not breaking rules that way, and he gets other guys to break them a lot on him."
Clearly, the 49ers' head coach loves the way his wideout plays and doesn't want him to change, regardless of criticism from opposing players.
San Francisco is on bye in Week 14, so hopefully Jennings will be able to stay out of the news for at least a week while the 49ers get a long-awaited week off.
