Sydney Sweeney has been captured wearing a devil-themed red costume, complete with horns, tail and wings, at what appeared to be a party in the week of Thanksgiving.

Images of her striking outfit and party outing were shared in a post Monday from Sweeney’s Instagram account @sydney_sweeney, which was simply captioned: "Friendsgiving week."

The post features a clip and images of the Anyone but You actress wearing the red number, alongside others who were dressed in costumes themed around animation film characters, from Shrek and Pinocchio to Cinderella, among others.

The post also features images of Sweeney in other settings, from riding a bike along a tree-lined path and standing on a boat to an atmospheric candlelit table setting outdoors.

The Emmy award-nominated actress, also known for her roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus series, spoke out last month in defense of her latest movie Christy, which had one of the worst box-office openings on record. The film follows the life of Christy Salters, surname previously Martin, a pioneering female boxer whose rise was matched by turbulence in her personal life.

After the numbers were published, Sweeney shared an Instagram photo dump from the movie with a caption that read: "I am so deeply proud of this movie. Proud of the film David made. Proud of the story we told. Proud to represent someone as strong and resilient as Christy Martin. this experience has been one of the greatest honors of my life," she wrote.

Sweeny also faced backlash last month from liberals for her response to a question about the fallout over her American Eagle denim campaign in June, an advert that ignited one of the year’s biggest online culture wars.

The campaign’s tagline, "Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans," sparked criticism online and debate about racism and eugenics, which is an ideology that promotes white genetic superiority.

In an interview with GQ, when Sweeney was asked directly about concerns that white people shouldn’t joke about genetic superiority amid a fraught political climate, she said: "I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear." The actress later noted that the ad "spoke for itself" and described the response to the ad from President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance as "surreal."

Newsweek has contacted representatives for Sydney Sweeney for comment via email.
