World Trigger anime fans have something big to rejoice about as the anime may be leaning towards a reboot. On December 1, the World Trigger anime made a cryptic post hinting at a reboot. The official announcement for the same will be revealed on December 4.

While fans loved the World Trigger anime, several fans believed that the first season was held back by inconsistent animation and slow pacing. As such, while some fans want the staff to produce the next season, others are notably excited about what a reboot could do for the franchise.

After 11 Years, World Trigger Anime May Be Set for a Reboot

On Monday, December 1, the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the World Trigger anime released a shocking reboot teaser through a cryptic post. The teaser simply said, "12.4 REBOOT," likely meaning that the anime's staff was set to produce a reboot for the anime, the official announcement for which will be released on Thursday, December 4.

While the anime has yet to reveal any other information, fans are clearly delighted by the possibility of a reboot. This is especially evident from the analytics for the post. At the time of writing, the World Trigger anime's reboot post had 16.4 million views and 142k likes.

So, is World Trigger anime really going to receive a reboot? It's tough to say. While the anime's first season needs some rework, as it only premiered in 2014, it seems a bit unlikely. That said, even Fullmetal Alchemist anime first premiered in 2003. Nevertheless, the franchise received another anime, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, just six years later.

Therefore, while a reboot of the World Trigger anime is possible, fans should take the theory with a pinch of salt, as there is also a chance that only the production team and studio are being rebooted.

While World Trigger anime's first season isn't necessarily bad, a reboot should really help the franchise. This is because, while the anime had a good story, its viewing experience was held back by inconsistent animation, slow pacing, and filler episodes.

As such, new fans had a tough time getting into the anime, diminishing the chance of growing its already humongous fanbase. However, the reboot isn't just good news for new fans, but also the old ones. Many fans did not like how Toei Animation handled the series at the start. As such, with a possible reboot, they are hoping to watch their favorite story arcs in season 3 animation quality.

Even if fans were to ignore the inconsistent animation quality, the anime's pacing cannot be ignored. While the anime's second and third seasons only have 12 and 14 episodes each, its first season had a total of 73 episodes, which isn't even remotely justifiable. Hence, for now, fans can only hope that on December 4, the franchise does what is necessary and announces a season 1 reboot.
