It’s easy to love the trio of Andrew Painter, Aidan Miller and Justin Crawford. They represent the best chances the team has at adding an actual impact bat/arm from within their own player development system. The wheels of that system have been rusted for quite a while, causing the need to spend on free agent acquisitions to grow each year, but this trio has a chance to add something real to the roster. If you had that much belief in Gage Wood or Aroon Escobar to be able to do the same at some point, I’m not going to quibble too much with you.
That brings us to our question of the day: who is your favorite prospect outside these five names that the Phillies currently have in their system? It’s kind of hard for me to say who that is personally because it sometimes depends on what you like as a prospect. I’ve been partial to catching prospects forever now, hence my unwavering love of all things Jorge Alfaro and J.T. Realmuto these past years, so a name like Alirio Ferrebus catches my eye. Carson DeMartini is someone that I would like to see succeed in their system, even though I know he’s not a catcher.
These are just a few names and there are more knowledgeable people here about the prospects, so who ya got?
