Recently retired defensive back Tyrann Mathieu appeared as a guest on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams, offering hope of a possible comeback to his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs.

"I mean, I'm like, not going to say no, I won't say no," said Mathieu, sitting with Adams at the Chiefs' facility. Yeah, probably, and I've stayed in contact with obviously (Chiefs GM) Brett (Veach) and mostly Coach (Andy) Reid, His grandson actually plays on a football team with my son, so it's all, it's the family, you know?"

Mathieu has maintained a strong relationship with the franchise and its defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo. He was even the pregame drum honoree during Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The former LSU standout spent three seasons in Kansas City, earning Pro Bowl selections twice, first-team All-Pro honors in 2020, and second-team honors in 2019.

Mathieu recently appeared on the Chiefs' Week 1 YouTube broadcast shortly after announcing his retirement from the NFL after 12 seasons. The 'Honey Badger' was an impactful part of Kansas City's Super Bowl LIV-winning team in 2019.
