Coronation Street’s Roy Cropper (David Neilson) has got us all intrigued with his latest pen pal dilemma.
As viewers will know, Roy has been writing to convicts, having learnt first-hand how lonely prison can be.
He was also recently contacted by the mother of one of his pen pals, thanking him for contacting her son.
Roy has since kept in touch with the woman, and last night we discovered that her name is Alice.
Things have grown complicated between them, with Alice having started to add romantic undertones to her letters, leaving Roy rattled.
Before Alice’s name was revealed, fans suspected that she could be an Emmerdale character, ahead of the upcoming Corriedale crossover event.

Now, one soap fan thinks they’ve worked out exactly who Alice is – and that’s not her real name!
‘So Roy is clearly communicating with Celia yes?’ Bec asked, before clarifying, ‘Alice = Celia.’
That’s right folks, Alice is an anagram of Celia! Could dastardly drug lord Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) be writing to Roy under a false identity?

As the leader of a major drug and human trafficking operation, Celia has proved to be one of Emmerdale’s most evil villains.
Could lovely Roy be set to fall into her trap and become one of her next victims?
Currently, she has April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) dealing drugs for her, while Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) is being held as a slave on her farm.
Will Roy face a similar fate, or could he be the one to finally bring her down?
Other theories have also been floating around social media about who Roy could be writing to, with some wondering if Alice is Kev Townsend’s (Chris Coghill) mum.
‘Is Alice going to be kevs mam from emmerdale as part of the cross over?’ Leanne asked.

Kev was a fan-favourite character who arrived in the village straight out of prison, in search of husband Robert.

Elsewhere, other fans think Alice may be a codename Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) is using to communicate with Roy.
‘I’m convinced that Nicola from Emmerdale is Roy’s pen pal and she’s using a fake name “Alice”,’ Ryan speculated.
This would make sense, as the pair have filmed a scene together – one of four that viewers will be able to vote on to appear in the episode.
