Cris Cyborg says there’s no way in hell Ronda Rousey agrees to step into a boxing ring with Katie Taylor.

A Rousey vs. Taylor boxing match might make sense to Netflix executives that don’t actually know anything about combat sports, but it’s little more than a farce to anyone who has even the most basic understanding of what Rousey’s strengths and weaknesses are.

Ronda was never a strong striker, and recently revealed that a career full of concussions left her unable to take a jab in training. That wouldn’t stop most fighters we know from accepting an eight figure bag to compete, but former nemesis Cris Cyborg knows more than a little about how much Rousey hates losing.

Cyborg vs. Rousey was one of the biggest fights in MMA over a decade ago but never came together because Ronda refused to fight Cris. Cyborg cut down to 140 pounds twice for the UFC in hopes it could set up a superfight between the two, but it never came together.

“I once saw Ronda Rousey shadow boxing and her shadow won!” Cyborg quipped on X (formerly Twitter). “Zero chance she fights boxing.”

“Maybe a return to the cage for a Gina Carano fight,” Cyborg added. “But Ronda doesn’t belong anywhere near a boxing ring.”

Yes, that’s right: Gina Carano is also back in the gym training again, which has led to speculation a long-teased Carano vs. Rousey fight may once again be in the realm of possibility.

One thing to note: no one is talking about Cris Cyborg vs. Ronda Rousey, despite it being the most legitimate fight of the bunch. That’s because we know it will never happen, and we know why it won’t happen: Cyborg is too damn good, and no one ever wants to fight her.

Instead, Cyborg will take on Sara Collins at PFL Europe 4 on December 13th. We’ll see where Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey end up.
