General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has about as bad a track record in the draft as any general manager leading an NFL team right now. He has missed on several top picks, he has traded out of spots to land ones who could hit, and as a result, people are questioning him on several fronts.

However, there is a bright spot emerging from the season of pure chaos for the team. This week on ESPN, the beat writers were asked about some takeaways from Week 13 of the season. Despite the blowout loss, ESPN's Kevin Seifert looked at the performance of a former top pick of Adofo-Mensah, Dallas Turner.

Seifert writes, "Amid an increasingly lost season, second-year linebacker Dallas Turner is beginning to show signs of being the playmaker they thought he could be as a first-round pick in 2024. He recorded five sacks in the past four games, although one was nullified because of a penalty. Sunday, he sacked Darnold twice, forced two fumbles, and batted down a pass."

Turner had a limited role as a rookie in 2024, as it seemed that Brian Flores did not trust him. In his sophomore season, Turner has emerged as someone they can rely on in critical situations. Over the last three games, he has compiled 15 total tackles, eight QB hits, four tackles for a loss, four sacks, two pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.

If he keeps that up, he is going to have a permanent and prominent spot in the defense in 2026.
