The Los Angeles Chargers have announced that quarterback Justin Herbert has undergone successful hand surgery on his non-throwing hand and will be considered day-to-day.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport has reported that Herbert intends to play in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles, saying "Justin Herbert underwent successful surgery today in Los Angeles to stabilize a fracture in his left hand," the statement read. "Herbert's return to play is considered day-to-day, and his status for next Monday's game against Philadelphia will be determined later in the week."
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMore will be determined throughout the week regarding how much Herbert practices, whether he will be cleared for any contact, etc. During the Chargers' win on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, Herbert would exit the game with a hand injury, but he only missed a few snaps.
Although more will be determined from the Chargers' medical staff, Ian Rapoport has reported that Herbert is absolutely focused and expecting to play in a very meaningful game against the Eagles.
