Coronation Street and Emmerdale fans have been left fearing for the life of a major fan-favourite character in the wake of an update about what Corriedale will entail.

A trailer for the explosive and long-awaited crossover between ITV’s flagship soaps dropped on Monday (December 1), with new spoilers and photos confirming a devastating tragedy will occur.

A multi-vehicle pile up will occur on a stormy country road near Hotten as the two soapy worlds collide, while desperate residents of Weatherfield and Emmerdale can be heard calling for help as the emergency services arrive.

Soap bosses promising that the aftermath of the crash will ‘give rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets, and lies.’

Numerous pictures were released of the chaos to come, with one showing a silhouette of a man amid the surrounding carnage – and it didn’t take long for fans to start speculating who it might be, with one name in particular coming up.

It was previously confirmed that Robert’s partner Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) will feature in CorrieDale, so could Rob be on hand to save his ex-husband from the tragedy that strikes?

Robert’s name wasn’t the only one mentioned, however, with some fans thinking that the person in question was instead Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
