The Green Bay Packers had a major win over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving, but it wasn't all positive. Green Bay lost defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt in the win, and pass rusher Lukas Van Ness is not close to a return.

Van Ness went down with a foot injury in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He missed the next five games, but returned against the Minnesota Vikings. However, Van Ness only played six snaps against the Vikings and missed the Thanksgiving game against the Lions.

He is now in a walking boot and doesn't look close to a return.

"It just wasn't exactly where I wanted it to be," Van Ness said. "Was hoping to get back on the field and return to play, played a limited amount of snaps and it didn't feel quite right yet, so just back on the rehab plan and hoping I can turn the corner shortly. But until then, just rehab, work with the training staff and coaches and hope I can get healthy soon."

Prior to the injury, Van Ness was having a solid season, posting 11 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, and six quarterback hits.

With two of their talented pass rushers out in Wyatt and Van Ness, the Packers will need their depth to step up. Micah Parsons and Rashan Gary will continue to lead the way, but Green Bay will need the others to win one-on-one matchups.

Parsons is putting together an incredible season, with 38 total tackles, 12.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and 24 quarterback hits. He is in the Defensive Player of the Year conversation, but will likely finish second behind Myles Garrett.

Rashan Gary has also been solid, as he has 39 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, and 15 quarterback hits.

In the absence of Van Ness and Wyatt, Green Bay will need Kingsley Enagbare, Colby Wooden, Karl Brooks, and others to capitalize on pass-rush opportunities.

The Packers have their most important game of the season coming up against the Chicago Bears, but they will have to do it without a few key defenders.
