The Chicago Bulls have gotten off to a slow start to begin the 2025-26 NBA season. With 20 games already in the books for the team, they hold a 9-11 record.

Obviously, that isn't where the Bulls wanted to be. They were hoping to take a big step in the right direction towards being a contender in the Eastern Conference. Due to their slow start, some changes could be considered.

Josh Giddey has turned into a franchise cornerstone for Chicago and locked in with the team on a lucrative long-term extension during the offseason. Building around him will be a top priority for the Bulls moving forward.

That being said, Chicago has reportedly considered pursuing a blockbuster trade before the NBA deadline this year.

Billy Donovan, Chicago Bulls...

According to ESPN's Jamal Collier, the Bulls have considered the idea of trading for Dallas Mavericks superstar big man Anthony Davis. He has been rumored to be a potential trade candidate this season.

"The Bulls have had internal discussions about how to proceed, including conversations about Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis, sources told ESPN, whom they believe could help the team's porous rim protection and defensive interior," Collier wrote.

While Chicago has interest in trading for Davis, Collier shared that one source revealed that the Bulls are not going to blow up their young core to get a deal with the Mavericks done.

Davis could be the superstar presence that Chicago needs to become a team to watch in the East. However, he has also dealt with more than his fair share of injury issues throughout his career. That should be a consideration in trade discussions.

So far this season in Dallas, Davis has been able to play in just six games. He has averaged 19.3 points per game to go along with 9.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 1.3 steals, while shooting 52.9 percent from the floor and 25 percent from three-point range.

Last season in 51 games between the Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers, Davis produced 24.7 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.2 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game.

At 32 years old, trading for Davis would be a bit dangerous. He doesn't fit the Bulls' timeline perfectly. Trading for him would make Chicago need to accelerate its timeline.

Expect to hear plenty of rumors about Davis as the season moves forward. For now, the Bulls are clearly a team to watch very closely as a potential trade suitor.
