Devin Williams is staying in New York, but will be wearing a different uniform.
The reliever and the Mets are in agreement on a three-year contract that guarantees more than $50 million, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

The deal includes no opt-outs or options, per ESPN. The Mets intend to have Williams pitching in the back end of the bullpen.
Williams’ exact role with the Mets is currently unknown as closer Edwin Diaz’s future in Queens is in limbo after opting out of his contract last month.
The reported move lands Williams in Queens after the right-hander spent last season pitching for the Yankees.
The two-time All-Star and ex-Brewer struggled in his time in pinstripes after arriving in the Bronx via trade before the start of the 2025 season.
Williams was removed from the Yankees’ closer role multiple times and eventually finished with career-worst 4.79 ERA in 62 innings pitched.
This is a developing story. Check back for more details.
