"Fire Tomlin" chants rained down from the stands of Acrisure Stadium as the Pittsburgh Steelers were blown out in Week 13 by the Buffalo Bills — and one rookie clearly isn't a fan of the backlash.
On Monday, fourth-round rookie OLB Jack Sawyer revealed his honest feelings about the chants, defending HC Mike Tomlin in a profanity-filled response to Steelers' fans’ frustrations in Week 13.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement"Yeah, you're frustrated because that's bullsh-- when people are saying that," Sawyer said via ESPN's Brooke Pryor. "But we're not playing up to our standard. … We need to take ownership as players and go out there and play a lot better.”
While Sawyer was quick to dismiss the fans' chants, Tomlin himself didn't shy away from their frustrations, instead choosing to empathize with Steelers Nation.
"Man, I share their frustration tonight," Tomlin said in the post-game press conference. "We didn’t do enough. And that’s just the reality of it."
Unless the Steelers can turn the ship around with only five games remaining in the regular season, fans will continue to call on the team to fire Tomlin after what's been a disastrous 2025 season to this point.
