The New York native tied the Penn State single-game record for steals with eight steals in Saturday night's dominant 90-59 win over Sacred Heart, finishing with 13 points, eight steals, five assists and three rebounds against the Pioneers. He added 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in Tuesday night's victory over Boston University.

Mingo has been instrumental in leading Penn State to its 7-1 start to the season as the rookie leads the team in points (14.3), assists (4.3) and steals (2.0) while ranking third in rebounds (4.1) through the first eight games of the year. Mingo and Illinois' David Mirkovic are currently tied as the highest-scoring freshmen in the Big Ten.
