Well, I don’t know about a lot of you Eastern timers, but I was (barely) awake for every snap on Saturday night/Sunday morning. That was rough, and an experience I don’t really want to go through again. Thankfully, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish had the Stanford Cardinal taken care of pretty much by the end of the first quarter. Another low stress and dominant win. 10 wins in a row to close out the season.
With the game how it was and how late it was, there weren’t a whole lot of overreactions I saw. There weren’t a lot of reactions to begin with since probably most people were in bed. But, like last week, I’m finding some posts to make a tangential connection to an overreaction.

The overreaction here is not really from what someone said online but from what Stanford’s game plan was. It was most likely an overreaction from Frank Reich and staff to think they could just throw successfully at Leonard Moore. They kept doing it, too. It was pretty comical, but also I was slap happy at that time of night.
This might be more of a conspiracy, as we were all tired and looking for some blame, but the Jeremiyah Love injury did look suspect, at best. I’m not too sure of the intentionality of the kneeing here, but it can justifiably raise some eyebrows, especially since Love’s status of going to New York City for the Heisman Trophy Ceremony could be in doubt. He did have a touchdown on Saturday night, though.
I’m truly not calling anyone out here, I’m simply trying to show how asinine comparing scores in garbage time is seeming to be. It’s just exhausting at this point. So maybe the people who genuinely do this (not as a bit) are overreacting, and maybe I’m overreacting by not obsessing over it. Regardless, I’m getting tired of it, and I just want the final bracket to be released so we can deal with the ramifications and move ahead.
