On Monday, after the Indianapolis Colts' Week 13 loss to the Houston Texans, head coach Shane Steichen was asked about cornerback Sauce Gardner's status moving forward.
Gardner exited Sunday's game after the second defensive play with a calf injury. Early reports said it was a calf strain that Gardner was dealing with, and not an Achilles injury.

Steichen added that Gardner will "miss some time," however, a stint on injured reserve is not needed either.
There isn't a specific timeline for when Gardner could return, but Steichen does expect the Colts' cornerback to play again this season.
In Gardner's first two games with the Colts, he has allowed five receptions on 10 targets for 38 yards with two pass breakups. He's also made 12 tackles.
With Gardner, the Colts have become a very man-coverage-heavy defense. That approach from defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo could change while Gardner is sidelined.
