Injuries have hit the Los Angeles Chargers hard on the offensive side of the ball this season, with both starting tackles and their starting running back missing significant time. On Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, another scare occurred — this time, to quarterback Justin Herbert.
The former Oregon Ducks standout appeared to injure his left hand in the first quarter, missing time in the second quarter as backup Trey Lance began a drive before Herbert reentered the game.

After the game, it was revealed that Herbert had suffered a broken left hand in the opening quarter, opting to finish — and eventually win — the game. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, he'll undergo surgery on Monday and "the team is uncertain if Herbert will miss any time."
When speaking to reporters postgame however, the former Duck said that he's treating next week's Monday night contest against the Philadelphia Eagles as a game that he'll play in.
