It doesn't happen often, so it's special anytime it does, but nothing is more special than when a player hits a nine-darter at the Alexandra Palace, where the PDC World Championship takes place every year.

Damon Heta - 2025 PDC WC

Heta's nine-darter came in the third round in a game against Luke Woodhouse.

Unfortunately, he still went on to lose the game, but he earned himself £60,000 by striking perfection and made up for the double he missed in the previous round that would have been a game-clinching nine-darter.

Christian Kist - 2025 PDC WC

Surprise nine-darters are always the best, and Kist was able to deliver one in the first round at Ally Pally in the 2024/25 PDC WC.

Michael Smith - 2023 PDC WC

If you're a darts fan, I'd be disappointed if you've never seen this clip.

Michael Smith struck perfection in the biggest game of the year in one of the most amazing legs of darts you'll ever see.

The craziest part is that he almost didn't get a chance at the 141 checkout, after six perfect darts, but Michael van Gerwen missed the double for what would have been a nine-darter of his own.

Smith went on to win his first World Championship title in this game.

Gerwyn Price - 2022 PDC WC

Price's sole nine-darter at the PDC WC came in a quarterfinal matchup against Michael Smith in 2022.

He became the first Welsh player in history to hit a nine-darter at the PDC WC.

Darius Labanauskas - 2022 PDC WC

We mentioned surprise nine-darters before and this was another that came out of nowhere.

It came against Mike De Decker in a first-round match at the 2022 PDC WC.

William Borland - 2022 PDC WC

This was regarded at the time as the greatest nine-darter of all time.

It was only one of a few game-clinching nines that we've seen at a TV event and it also came in a thrilling game that came down to a sudden-death leg.

James Wade - 2021 PDC WC

Wade is notoriously known for being on the wrong end of nine-darters, but he was able to be on the right end this time around.

His perfect leg was against Stephen Bunting in a third-round match in the 2021 PDC WC.

This was the first nine-darter at Ally Pally since 2016, ending a five-year drought.

Gary Anderson - 2016 PDC WC

Anderson is one of only four players to hit a nine-darter in the semifinal round or later at the PDC WC.

His perfect leg clinched the first set of the game and sent the crowd into a frenzy going into break #1.

Adrian Lewis - 2015 PDC WC

This nine-darter from Lewis was an iconic one, as it was against the legendary Raymond van Barneveld.

After he hit the nine-darter, he looked at the crowd and made a shrug gesture as if he were to say, 'that's just what I do'.

Van Barneveld was a good sport about it, hugging Lewis as the two walked off the stage together after the first set.

Kyle Anderson - 2014 PDC WC

Anderson became the first Aussie to hit a nine-darter at the PDC WC in 2014, in a first-round match against Ian White.

Terry Jenkins - 2014 PDC WC

Jenkins struck perfection against Per Laursen in a first-round match at the 2014 PDC WC.

Michael van Gerwen - 2013 PDC WC

The set that van Gerwen hit this nine-darter in was one of the craziest sets in darts history.

After hitting a nine-darter, he proceeded to hit eight straight perfect darts in the following leg, but unfortunately missed the double for what would have been consecutive nine-dart legs.

Dean Winstanley - 2013 PDC WC

This nine-darter came against Vincent van der Voort in a second-round match.

The reaction after he hit the double might never be matched, as he sprinted across the stage in celebration.

Adrian Lewis - 2011 PDC WC

It was an early nine-darter in the game, but it set the tone for a final that he would eventually go on to win against Gary Anderson.

Raymond van Barneveld - 2010 PDC WC

In typical Barney fashion, he jumped up and down after striking perfection against Brendan Dolan in a second-round match.

Raymond van Barneveld - 2009 PDC WC

In his quarterfinal match at the 2009 PDC WC, Barney hit the first-ever nine-darter at the PDC WC, in a game against Jelle Klaasen.
