Three draws
After yesterday’s draw against Girona, Real Madrid is now at 2nd place of LL table – after being 5 points ahead of Barcelona. My take on this game comparing to previous games:
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWe managed to press high again. After many games not doing it, I had a briefly impression that players were, again, doing what they were asked by Xabi and coaching staff.
Our defensive issues appear when high press was beaten and our players failed to track-back.
Good to have Militao and, especially, Rüdiger back. Rüdiger played well considerably how long he has been out.
Alonso continues to struggle with in-game management. I think the problem got bigger after the so-called dressing room issues
Rodrygo is having almost no impact in games. Why did he came on before GG when the team needed a goal?
It seems that GG and Carreras were ready to come in earlier, but it was halted after Mbappe scored the penalty.
In any case, throwing GG and Carreras in the remaining 4-5 minutes makes no sense at all, especially bringing Trent out.
I think Xabi should have opt for GG instead of Rodrygo as the second sub. Not sure I would bring Tchou out, but in hindsight Cama and Fede played well in midfield.
Is this really helpful?
Vini was about to take a corner, but Xabi AND his assistant stopped him from taking it.
Do you guys think it is helpful?
The issues
Xabi is even under a bigger pressure than before. Will he turn things around?
