Lafayette (La.) St. Thomas More three-star quarterback Cole Bergeron has decommitted from Virginia Tech.
He was pledged to the Hokies since Aug. 7, when he chose the ACC program over Colorado and Georgia Tech. Virginia Tech fired head coach Brent Pry earlier this fall and has since replaced him with James Franklin.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder is back on the board amidst a tumultuous start to the 2025 season in Blacksburg. The Hokies offered Bergeron in the summer and immediately stood out, but with uncertainty surrounding head coach Brent Pry and Co., the senior signal-caller is now looking elsewhere.
“I can see myself thriving with these guys in this offense,” Bergeron told Rivals‘ Sam Spiegelman about his August commitment. “Coach Pry is passionate about Virginia Tech … You can tell how much he cares about this program and his players.”
