GOP Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar said the U.S.'s push to remove the Maduro regime from power in Venezuela is imminent and will be extremely beneficial for American oil companies.

Speaking on Fox News, Salazar said the Trump administration is taking the same steps it did before striking Iran's nuclear facilities earlier this year. "This is what he did with Iran. We gave ample notice to commercial airlines. Don't fly over Venezuela," she said.

"This is not going to be hard. 80% of Venezuelans voted for the opposition. You have 8 million Venezuelans in exile. We're talking about the largest reserves of oil in the world that will be doing business with American companies. That is something I made very sure they understand. American companies in Venezuela for the next 100 years," she added.

Salazar had made a similar claim the week prior. Speaking to Fox Business, Salazar said "Maduro is not Fidel Castro."

"He's not a brave boy. Now he has understood he is in that very nefarious list of terrorist organizations. The airspace above Venezuela has been closed off and commercial airlines from the U.S. are not flying. He is understanding we are about to go in. He understands that he has been our enemy for the last 25 years," Salazar said.

She went on to say that such a scenario would be a "field day" for oil companies as they can "go in and fix oil rigs and everything that has to do with Venezuelan petroleum companies."

Salazar clashed about the issue with MAGA activist Laura Loomer after the latter claimed the lawmaker advocated for "illegal aliens from Venezuela to stay in the United States" and called for "US intervention and full blown regime change in Venezuela.

Loomer made the claim when reacting the interview Salazar gave to Fox Business. In this context, Loomer claimed Maduro "has called for peace and Venezuelans have been holding country wide anti-war protests." "President Trump campaigned on NO NEW WARS. He is the peace President. Salazar is not advocating for Peace," she added.

Salazar reacted with a social media publication of her own, saying Loomer has "no idea" what she's talking about. "I am aligned with President Trump on deporting all CRIMINAL illegal aliens, and unlike you, I support his military buildup off Venezuela to confront a narco-dictatorship + terrorist allies who want to destroy the USA," she claimed.

She went on to say that Maduro is a "narco-dictator who beats, jails, and kills the Venezuelan people," and has "systematically sent the Tren de Aragua gang to destabilize the United States."

"No one actually informed on this topic would ever call anything about Maduro peaceful. That's why he's the enemy head of an FTO under international law, just like BIN LADEN was," she added, in reference to the fact that the Cartel de los Soles, which the Trump administration accuses Maduro and top officials of leading," was officially designated on Monday as a terrorist organization.

"The real question is, why are you defending such an obviously bad, drug-dealing, terrorist dictator? I stand with President Trump and with the Venezuelan people. Unlike you, I will never defend a dictator who shelters terrorists," she concluded.
