Video: Watch Anthony Joshua tower over Jake Paul in first staredown ahead of Dec. 19 fight in Miami

Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua came face-to-face for the first time earlier today (Fri., Nov. 21, 2025) at the conclusion of their kick off press conference (video replay here), which went down in Miami, Fla., which is the sight of their 8-round boxing fight on Dec. 19.

As expected, the 6’6” Joshua towered over Paul, who is listed at 6’1”.

The fight will be listed as an official Heavyweight pro boxing fight, not an exhibition, though there is a stipulation in place stating that Joshua can not weigh more than 245 pounds. That shouldn’t be an issue for the former WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO Heavyweight boxing champion, who weigh 252 pounds for his title fight against Daniel Dubois in Sept. 2024. That said, there is no re-hydration clause, which means Joshua can (and will) balloon up several pounds the day of the bout.

For his part, Paul revealed he expects to weigh anywhere between 215 to 220 pounds on fight night.

The men kept it pretty cordial during the press conference, with Paul assuring fight fans and naysayers that he, indeed, was not out of his mind for challenging Joshua, saying he wants nothing more than to prove himself against the best in the world. As for Joshua, he is adamant he is not overlooking Paul and gave him props for putting the fight together.
