On the surface, Tottenham Hotspur had a substantial injury list going into the international break, but the reality was always that many of their players were expected to return in time for the Arsenal match this weekend.

Of the 12 Spurs players with at least some injury doubts around them, Thomas Frank has confirmed that eight have since returned to training.

“Pape [Matar Sarr] and Lucas [Bergvall] both trained and available,” Frank confirmed. “[Randal] Kolo Muani trained and available, he will wear a mask.

“Radu [Dragusin] is in full training. Played his first 45 minutes in nine months last week. Trained fully today. He is very close to being selected. Kota [Takai] and Ben [Davies] both trained with the team today. Archie [Gray] trained with the team today.

“[Mohammed Kudus] trained today and is available.”

There was only really one piece of bad news for Spurs from Frank’s press conference, as he confirmed that “Dom [Solanke] is not ready yet”.

Long-term injury sufferers James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are also unavailable, and the lack of an update on Yves Bissouma suggests he’s not ready either.

Given Arsenal will definitely be without Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Kai Havertz, with at least some doubts around Riccardo Calafiori, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Viktor Gyokeres, and Noni Madueke, Spurs can hardly complain about their three or four players still missing.
