The Toon teenagers netted twice in the first-half at the Magpies' Little Benton Academy, with Sammy Pinnington opening the scoring for the hosts before the 17-year-old winger, who signed his first professional contract last month, turned from goalscorer to provider as Matheos Ferreira doubled Newcastle's lead before the half-hour mark.

Kacey Wooster extended United's lead shortly after the restart, the Romford-born striker's fifth goal in as many league matches at under-18 level before Magpies substitute Alfie Seldon added further gloss to the scoreline, with Pinnington assisting both goals.

Pinnington, who joined Newcastle from Luton Town in the summer of 2023, capped off a marvellous individual display by netting Newcastle's fifth goal of the day as Chris Moore's side remained in second place of the table, five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City.
