While One Piece features more plentiful male characters in its story, this highlights its most powerful female stars even more prominently. Eiichiro Oda's iconic shonen odyssey has brought fans female Emperors, Holy Knights, Warlords, and even one able to imitate Luffy's Gear 5 form. But the strongest female One Piece characters' presences are felt years after their last appearances.
The women of One Piece come from all walks of life, from oddball members of the Charlotte family, to former agents of Baroque Works. They've transformed the series' landscape, carved out entire territories for themselves, and had vital roles for the Straw Hats, such as their navigator and archaeologist. But being a Straw Hat doesn't guarantee a top spot.
8 Charlotte Smoothie

Charlotte Smoothie in One Piece
Possessing the Wring-Wring Fruit, able to drain and absorb liquid from her enemies, Smoothie is unsurprisingly strong for her massive stature. Coming from the Longleg Tribe, Smoothie sports a height of 15'3", her strength was enough to hold back Straw Hats like Sanji and Luffy, as well as Vinsmoke Reiju, and even withstand Conqueror's Haki from Big Mom.
While there was no decisive winner, fans frequently debate whether Reiju or Smoothie would win if they fought. Smoothie certainly boasts the raw strength and Devil Fruit ability to tank Reiju's poison, but much like many One Piece power scaling discussions, multiple scenarios are brought to the table. With Observation and Armament Haki, Smoothie has a reasonable case to win.
7 Jewelry Bonney

Alongside her powers granted by the Age-Age Fruit, Bonney is gifted not only in the use of Armament Haki, but also fought bravely against one of the Five Elders. This is no mean feat, with few One Piece characters, regardless of gender, being able to handle their ruthless onslaught. But Bonney's greatest secret comes from her Devil Fruit.
But in that same arc, her true greatest asset, the ability to embody any possible future self, allows her to embody a new iteration of Nika in the future where she's the most free.

While understanding Haki well, Robin is the sole character on this list who has not yet demonstrated it in practice. Despite this, her Flower-Flower Fruit combined with Fish-Man Karate enhances her fight IQ by taking advantage of her many sprouted limbs in battle. When she joined the Straw Hats in One Piece, she was easily the stronger female crewmate.
Surviving and escaping the Buster Call at Ohara, Robin can sprout gargantuan limbs, even hundreds at once. She can take down masses of opponents by stomping them under enormous sprouted feet, and, via Demonio Fleur, can sprout a massive copy of her upper body, boasting devilish features and godly grappling strength. Easily handling Black Maria, Robin isn't to be underestimated.

A former member of the Beasts Pirates' elite Tobiroppo, ranking only below the All-Stars and Kaido himself, Ulti is far above much of the world's strongest fighters already. Bearing the Dragon-Dragon Fruit, Pachycephalosaurus Model, Ulti is a unique Zoan-type fighter in the One Piece cast. Unsurprisingly, this might has been tested against Luffy, Nami, Usopp, and Yamato, among others.
Much like most late-stage One Piece female characters, Ulti can use Armament and Observation Haki to great effect. Even as a human, without using her Pachycephalosaurus form, Ulti is shown to have an extremely powerful skull granting deadly, potentially lethal headbutts. When she assumes her Pachycephalosaurus form, this empowers her attacks to crush the skulls of her enemies.

Able to use Armament, Observation, and even Conqueror's Haki, and possessing the Love-Love Fruit, Boa Hancock's leadership over Amazon Lily and former Warlord position underlined her lasting presence in One Piece. The ability to turn her opponents to stone is not only ruthless, but she inspires fear even among the ranks of the Straw Hats and anyone who crosses her.
While Hancock's adoration for Luffy could reasonably be counted as her primary weakness, this doesn't stop her from being an increasingly fearsome female character in One Piece. Upon loss of her Warlord status, her bounty shot to 1,659,000,000 berries, outpacing all but Luffy's in the process.
3 Catarina Devon

Catarina Devon of the Blackbeard Pirates in One Piece
A Captain of Blackbeard's fleet, and standing at a mighty 11'10", while not the tallest female One Piece character, she's one of the strongest living pirates left. Eating the Dog-Dog Fruit, Nine Tailed Fox model, Devon asserted her dominance as a powerful and deadly pirate, earning her lofty position under Blackbeard and joining his pirates in Impel Down Level 6.
Proficient with multiple melee weapons like a whip, sword, and spear, Devon has fought Whitebeard and Sengoku while living to tell the tale. Accompanying her combat abilities and raw strength is powerful durability and Devil Fruit-granted mimicry powers. Given her status as a high-ranking Blackbeard Pirates captain, she will certainly feature as a deadly adversary close to the end.
2 Manmayer Gunko

Boasting a status among the Holy Knights effectively putting her a heartbeat away from the highest seats of World Government, Gunko is so far the strongest living female One Piece character as depicted in the series. In addition to the usual arsenal including "abnormal Haki" as alluded to in chapter #1139, Gunko possesses similar ageless immortality to the Five Elders.
But beyond that meaning she's durable and lived long enough to witness pivotal historical events in chapter #1155, Gunko possesses the Arrow-Arrow Fruit, allowing her to conjure and telekinetically control deadly projectiles. She's even beaten Scopper Gaban in a fight, an incredible feat. But her possession by Imu proves she's a deadly vessel of immense power in the Elbaph Arc.

Big Mom, most powerful female One Piece character
Charlotte Linlin, aka Big Mom, was the most overpowered female One Piece character the Straw Hats encountered. She could use all three types of Haki and, despite not being a giant, not only shared their stature, but could bring them their enormous knees through strength alone. Big Mom is resistant to gunfire, and withstand thunderbolts from Zeus conjured by Nami.

Despite being tanky enough to be a reasonably super-strong and defense-oriented character, Big Mom was incredibly fast, too. But her most terrifying ability, her Soul-Soul Fruit, allowed her to steal souls of her victims, even infusing them into herself to become stronger. A long-surviving Rocks Pirate, Big Mom's terrifying power made her the most powerful female One Piece character ever.
