OXFORD — Lane Kiffin is taking some Ole Miss football staffers with him to LSU, per reports.
Ole Miss offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. is expected to be part of Kiffin's staff at LSU, per a report from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports on Nov. 30.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementZenitz also reported wide receivers coach George McDonald, general manager Billy Glasscock, senior associate AD for football operations Thaddeus Rivers and head strength and conditioning coach Nick Savage are expected to go to LSU with Kiffin.
After weeks of buildup, Kiffin jumped to LSU on Nov. 30. Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding was promoted to permanent head coach as Kiffin's replacement.
Weis Jr. was in his fourth season at Ole Miss. He has been a big part of Ole Miss' offensive success. The Rebels set program records in total offense (6,845), yards per play (7.3), passing yards (4,561) and passing yards per game (350.8) in 2024. He is the son of former college coach Charlie Weis.
Kiffin is leaving an Ole Miss team that is 11-1 with a College Football Playoff game next. It will be Ole Miss' first CFP game in program history.
