The Carolina Panthers seemingly had the kryptonite for quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

In the face of overwhelming odds and a frontrunner for this year's Most Valuable Player award, the Panthers prevailed here in Week 13—pulling off a stunning 31-28 upset win at home. The victory was headlined by three takeaways from the Carolina defense, which hit up Stafford for two interceptions and a fumble on the afternoon.

One of the interceptors, Panthers cornerback Mike Jackson, would then let media members know his thoughts on their coverage leading up to the matchup.

"All week, y'all just kept talking about how great he is and how, like, he was Superman with no cape," he said from his locker following the game. "At the end of the day, it's about who's better today—and we were. We got the ball out three times. So that's the result that we want."

Jackson's pick, the second of the contest for Stafford, was returned for a 48-yard touchdown. His pick-six was sandwiched by an interception by safety Nick Scott on the possession prior and a strip-sack from defensive lineman Derrick Brown to help clinch the win late in the fourth quarter.

Stafford still finished with some decent numbers, throwing for 243 yards on 28 tries (8.7 per attempt) and two touchdowns. But it wasn't enough to top the Panthers and Jackson, who won't forget his big play anytime soon.

"Don't get me wrong, he's a Hall of Famer," Jackson also stated. "When he's having his Hall-of-Fame speech, I'ma be thinking about this pick."
