The Dallas Cowboys have been playing much better defensively over the last three games thanks to the addition of defensive tackle Quinnen Williams, plus some others returning from injury. A few days ago, it was announced that cornerback Trevon Diggs, who hasn’t played since Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers, is expected to be back on the field on Thursday when the Cowboys take on the Detroit Lions, which would undoubtedly give them another boost. Per Todd Archer of ESPN, that is looking more like a reality as his 21-day practice window has been opened, and he will practice on Sunday.
If Diggs isn’t able to make it back on the field within that time, then he’ll be placed on season-ending injured reserve. However, that’s highly unlikely with the progress that he’s made, and he should be back uniform in Week 14.

The effectiveness of Diggs remains to be seen with this much time off. After all, you can’t get in football shape without playing football.
With that being said, if Diggs can get anywhere back to the level he’s capable of playing, the Cowboys’ cornerback room will be more than ready for the playoff push during the last month of the regular season with DaRon Bland, Caelen Carson, and rookie Shavon Revel playing alongside him.
